It's the middle of the night, but I'm okay

La la la la la la la la la la la la la la

Just had to get that out of my system.

Went downtown. Told a lot of people this already, but we'll go again...had an L.A. Dog. Californians are weird. It was a hot dog with cucumber slices, bean sprouts, onions, and ketchup. I liked it. I had two, actually. It was my new thing for the day. Didn't do a whole lot else. Walked forever; however, regardless of how sore my feet are I am NOT COMPLAINING, in fact, I am thankful, cause someone I know walked a lot more and his feet are a lot worse, so I do not mind so much that mine are throbbing. Other than my new treat, nothing else to really report. Couldn't find cheap sunglasses downtown; I really want a pair but I can't pay more than 8 dollars for them, and preferably less, cause they last me usually about a month into the summer, before they get lost. And there were no straw hats to be seen, either. Why do I want a straw hat, you might ask? Because I can pull it off, according to Melissa and Julie. So since I can, I shall. That and I think they're really neat, and I've always wanted one since I went to Florida when I was 12. None today, though. However, while sight-seeing I did sight-see a kick butt birthday present for Beef; he might get it a few months early. We'll see...found a new present idea for me in case anybody but Troy is wondering. It's a trivia game based entirely on movies, with stars and quotes and other stuff, too. Tell me the person inventing that didn't have me in mind, really. I'll have to get the name next time I go back. Also, while I didn't get any darker while walking downtown, I did apparently manage to get burnt (but not red mind you) cause I'm now feeling sore all over, just the little bit of sore you get when you get burned. And I STILL have nothing to show for it. I think I'll just be white for the rest of my life.

Okay, new topic, you know those "say what you see" things? Like Troy's new icon? We have this one in the bathroom, and I can't for the life of me get it...

Any help would be appreciated. Sarah from Napa says it's lightly underline once, someone else said it's once over lightly, but neither of those are familiar phrases, and I keep telling them that they are supposed to be familiar phrases, otherwise anything could be the "right" answer. Anyway...

And now a few quotes that a few recent friends' entries reminded me of...

for karkota
"I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than closed by belief." ~Gerry Spence, How to Argue and Win Every Time

for cynic42
"Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disapointed love." ~Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey

for lilangelbrat
"There is no security quite as comfortable and undemanding as the kind you feel among old friends." ~Peter Bodo

for ladyv22, from a comment she made in my journal,
"Men who treat women was helpless and charming playthings deserve women who treat men as delightful and generous bank accounts." ~GQ

and one that I have thought about a bit recently for myself,
"When you can't have what you want, it's time to start wanting what you have." ~Kathleen A Sutton
Posting that doesn't mean I'm going to start following it, however.

And in case I forget, best for last, a big wish of broken legs for my dear friends Beef (cynic42) and Brewer (tazdevil76) in their musical this weekend. I know they'll both kick butt, after all, they are friends with me!

“Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee and just as hard to sleep after.” ~Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Gift From the Sea
Unless it ends at 5 o'clock in the morning and you're really tired. But even so, it was a nice conversation, thank you Bud.

And a very cool quote, I must say...

"Hmm... see... that's the problem... the things I'm terribly curious about, they're things that I need to experience... the different ways you smile, how you tense up when you drive, how you react on the dance floor, the look in your eyes when a favorite song pops up on the radio...A person defines themselves in their little actions." ~Robert C. Beumel

It's interesting how someone can say one thing that completely redefines how you want to just look at people. Now I can't wait to see someone tomorrow, cause it'll be like looking at them for the first time.

I guess when you get something you just get it...

Well, I got my math test back today. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, really I'm not, and may I please remind everyone that on the last test I took in this class I received a D...okay, so I got a no points off and all five possible extra credit points. I'm not too worried about my grade in this class anymore, considering now the D test gets dropped.

Please don't disown me, I'm still a really cool person aside from my math abilities. Honest.
