Nice Day (Again)

A few notes to a few people:

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE- I am not happy with you at the moment. There's a reason this entry isn't protected.

Beef- Okay, I loved the flik, it was great, and I loved Kirsten Dunsdt as MJ, but little ignorant me has a question-- Whenever I think of Spider-Man the first thing that comes to mind is: "That reminds me of an issue of Spider-Man I did when Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey went lingere shopping. Of course, the Green Goblin showed up, and he pumpkin-bombed the hell out of the place, but aside from that, it's really the same thing." My question: Who is Gwen?

Bud- My dad actually said that I looked buzzed when I walked in the door...tee hee hee. And the above quote is from the Kevin Smith movie that you have yet to see, and at the rate we're running out of money, I think the next time we get together we should start to work off our list.

Nikki- Yeah, the kiss is great and all, but I think I've had better upside-down kisses in the past.

Everyone- Butch said the movie sucked: this was right after Peter told MJ that he could only offer her his friendship. He was the only one in the theater who made any sound at all, a nice loud Homer Simpson "DOH!" as he smacked himself in the forehead. (I don't think he really meant the sucked comment, I think it was just referring to that scene, don't disown him yet please)

Brewer- I only have the email address, I don't have a phone number or anything like that, you'd have to talk to Troy, he's the only one I know who would have it.

Yeah, I have work in the morning so I think that about wraps it up. I work at 9, and luckily it's Saturday so I don't have to get up at 6:45 to be kids to take to school. I can sleep until 8. Speaking of sleeping arrangements, I will not be getting into a normal habit this upcoming week: I work three overnight shifts. I'm starting to ramble, night now.

Some religious stuff...

This is mostly just some stuff that I've been wanting to type for awhile cause it was so cool that I really wanted to share it with you LJ buddys of mine.

The Matrix
The first time I went to Faith Goes To The Movies, Dr. Eschelbach did it on The Matrix. Melissa and I hadn't wanted to go cause we thought that it would be the typical Lutheran thing-- that they would bash it for everything that is "wrong" in the movie. On the contrary, it would seem that it is Eschelbach's favorite movie and almost the entire thing from start to finish is a nice parallel of the Bible. So, we all can pretty much guess who Neo and Cypher and Morpheous are, but I didn't really know who Trinity was until Eschelbach said: She is exactly as her name describes her. Now with that in mind, think about the end of the movie, where Neo is shot and Trinity tells him that he can't be dead, because she loves him. Now, get up. How cool is that imagery? That just blew my mind.

Metaphors in John
A lot of theologists debate about the "metaphors" in John, and how Jesus says things like "I am the way, the truth and the life" and "I am the door" and "I am the bread of life" and "I am the light." I like what Eschalbach had to say about it in my New Testament class...

"Jesus wasn't using metaphors. When he says "I am the bread of life" He means it exactly. He is true bread. He gives life. The reason that this stuff we have on earth can be called "bread" is because it is like Jesus. It imitates the way He gives us life, but it's nothing compared to the real thing. The reason that big ball of light in the sky can be called "light" is because it imitates Jesus, the true light. The thing with hinges and a frame and a big piece of wood attached to it can be called a door because it imitates Jesus. Jesus is the opening through which we pass to get to where we need to be (or something like that, that one is fuzzy in my mind)."

Those were the two biggest things that I wanted to write about. There are others, too, and eventually I hope to share them as well, but I thought that those were the most interesting and cool.

Some Random Whats from the corner of my dusty mind

Things with Troy and I are better and we're friends again, and things are gonna be a little different in a good way that will definitely benefit us both, I think. In case anyone is interested.

Life or Something Like It is a very good movie. Go see it.

I really want to see the midnight showing of Episode II just so that I can tell Sarah from Napa that I saw it before her (cause she's three hours earlier...tee hee hee).

That was fun.

My dog is so cute. She has learned that if she wants to chew something she can pick it up and bring it to a big person and ask if she can chew it. While, once she brought this stuffed monkey to my dad, and she asked him if she could chew it and he told her, "No, it's my monkey, you can't chew up my monkey," so now she just carries the monkey all around the house and she doesn't chew it up at all. It's adorable.

I want candy.

I just took off my coat for the first time since I put it on this morning to go to work at 8:30.

I was at a Red Wings playoff game last Saturday.

Beef and Brewer and Timmy and whoever else I'm sure I'm missing, I need free time that isn't late at night so I can call you cause I'm kicking myself cause I want to see the you guys and especially I want to give Beef your birthday/graduation gift...argh. It's sitting in my room saying, "Give me to him. He's gonna love me. You can't wait another minute."

The orange trolls under my bed and in the laundry room have migrated to my work as well.

Paul's on crack but I don't have to deal with it so I'm happy.

I wanna mank someone.

Lauren is my most insane friend.

Contrary to popular belief, Sammy did not come into existance in Chemisty class but in Biology.

OOOOOHH!!! I just had an idea for a third entry...brb!
