So I had my first day at VBS today and I had so much fun! All my kids were kindergarten-second grade, and usually I have trouble finding anything to talk about or whatever with that age group. But I think I did a pretty good job! I tried really hard to call each kid by name, and to praise them when they did something really well, and to remind them about the lesson of the day: Jesus is our friend (VIVA!) They said VIVA everytime someone said the lesson, all day. It was a lot of fun.
I gotta make some phone calls and get my appointments scheduled, and then my goal is to clean the living room and dining room today. We'll see how much I get done, but I have a lot of time. I'll probably post later.
So I got a good amount of stuff done today...except cleaning. I have barely started and I feel really discouraged. I am barely fighting a strong urge to just dump everything in a box and call it done. I really don't want to do anything right now. And it doesn't help that it's hotter than heck here, so I'm all sweaty and uncomfortable when I work, and I have the hiccoughs, and a slight hunger/sleeplessness/caffeine headache. I think I might give up today and start again tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have slept more and I won't feel all yucky. Also, I think it would be much less boring and frustrating if Jordan were here helping. Anyway, I'm gonna go watch more of Alias, I rented the first season from Blockbuster to give it a try and so far I like it all right. I'm not a big Jennifer Garner fan, something about her cheeks and mouth shape bothers me, but I have a crush on Miohael Vartan, so there you are. Also, Sydney's ringtone is that horrible, annoying one that is also used in the AMC "cellphones ruin movies" ads before the previews, and everytime I hear it I want to cry. I'm only a few episodes in, but is it sad that I think the best part is Vartan's coworker who keeps making funny one-liners? "Your girlfriend's name is Alice" and "Balls of Steel. No, that's what I'm going to call you from now on. Hey, have you met Balls of Steel?" You probably have to see the episodes to find it as funny as I did. So I think I'll watch a little bit more...
