I hate that our party system is so starkly divided today. Jordan says it used to be that you counted on your party and you tried to get moderates from the other party to vote for you, and that's how you won. When Bush campaigned, he seemed to say to hell with moderates, I'll just get conservatives so damn mad that they vote in droves, and since then that seems to be the only way to win. No one campaigns to the moderates (like me, I am in-between the two parties, I don't feel strongly one way or the other). And that's why these last elections have been so close. I don't know, it's just frustrating. I really see McCain as more of the same, in order to get elected he has been trying to be more and more conservative. The lies going around suck, and it sucks that our country is so dumb that they just listen to them instead of reading up on the facts.
I am hoping, hoping, hoping things work out. And I'm voting, even though I live in texas and don't believe that it will make a difference.
